It has a large, robust downtown that is home to local shops, cultural institutions, events, and an active community. With two museums in town, Mercer Museum and Fonthill Castle and James A. Michener Art Museum, and historical groups, it’s no wonder that Doylestown has been recognized by USA Today as having America's "best small-town cultural scene." You’ll find everywhere is kid-friendly, if not for kids, including Kids Castle Park, a playground with dungeon-themed slides, ramps, and mazes. Dedicated to preserving its natural resources, the borough has an Environmental Advisory Council that works on initiatives such as promoting improved habitat for birds, limiting single-use plastics, and eliminating local barriers to solar energy growth.
