Fitler Square is located along the Schuylkill River in the Southwest corner of Center City. The neighborhood and the half-acre park sandwiched between Panama and Pine Street at 23rd St are named after former Philadelphia mayor Edwin Henry Fitler. Every Saturday you’ll find most of the residents here picking up local produce at the year-round farmer’s market.
The quiet family-friendly neighborhood is just as prestigious (and priced as so) as neighboring Rittenhouse but not as busy. Small cafes and restaurants cater to the mostly residential area. Old world charm is found throughout the area’s grand 19th and 20th-century townhomes.
The proximity to the city’s busier neighborhoods makes Fitler Square admirable to families, empty-nesters, and young professionals. Residents can find a quiet spot in the park or along the Schuylkill River Park or stay active at the Markwood Rec Center.
